Group A: Bayern Leverkusen, Bundesliga giants...

Given that last year winner comes from Bundesliga, one should expect much from Bayern Leverkusen. On their day, they could beat any team.

Leverkusen finished their last Bundesliga campaign only a point and a place behind runners-up Borussia Dortmund. Like Dortmund, they are a counterattacking side, usually starting with a 4-3-3 formation.

Leverkusen's dangerman

It remains to be seen whether Leverkusen coach Sami Hyypia can implant defensive stability. Goalkeeper Bernd Leno, 21, might be highly talented, but he has to become more consistent.

Star player for Leverkusen would definitely be Stefan Kiessling.
Were it not for Kiessling, Bayern Leverkusen would certainly not be in the Champions League. He was last season's Bundesliga top scorer and there were 10 assists from him. At the age of 29, he is at the best form of his life and will be the man to watch...a dangerous player that can tear defenders apart. Another player to watch is Son, 21, who turned down interest from Manchester United to join Leverkusen from Hamburg in the summer. He is highly likely going to make his Champions League debut at Old Trafford against Manchester United.
