Get in a good mood on Monday

There is always a tendency to feel down and moody on a Monday. After all, it's the first day of work after your beautiful weekend.

But does it has to be that way? Well, the other day, I was reading on an article about a 3 minute idea to get into a good mood. I tried it on Monday and it worked brilliantly.

Looking back to the past will help you to see a brighter future.
The nostalgic feeling will help you to feel less lonely and a little more optimistic.

In the British research study, if you listen to songs that reminded you of good memories, you will tend to feel more confident about the future than when you listen to music without any attachment to it.

Listening to the right music can boost your mood in just 3 minutes

Well, if you are trying to find out why, here is a simple reasoning by researchers...it is a chain reaction: Nostalgia spurs a feeling of social connectedness. That in turn raises self-esteem, which makes you more optimistic.

So, if you are still feeling moody after a day's work, crank up a song from the first concert you attended with your friends, or the songs that you sing during your convocation or listen to that holiday record you always play with your family or your loved ones.
Choose songs you loved when you were between 15 and 25 years old as that's the time in your life when you go through the most changes in identity, helping you code more memories.

If you are not a song person, you could just flip through some old photo albums or scroll through some of the beautiful moments that you have taken while on vacation in your Facebook. That should do the trick.

I've tried with the music...it works pretty good! Still feeling down? Maybe it's time to turn the music on!
