Before the game, Giggs promised to bring back the attacking flair to United...and he did just that.
It is far too early to judge, but Giggs justified his team selection with quiet logic before kick off. “Leaving players out has been the hardest part. Danny Welbeck scored at Norwich earlier this season, while Shinji Kagawa scored a hat-trick against them last season. That was in my thinking.”
It was hard not to notice the lack of a David Moyes signing in his first eleven, although Juan Mata was named among the substitutes. “Marouane Fellaini's unfortunate not to make the bench but he'll be involved in the coming weeks," Giggs added.

| Rooney scored the penalty |
There wasn't much in the game until the 40th minute, when Danny Welbeck won a penalty. Steven Whittaker stuck his leg out, then tried to pull it back to avoid fouling, but caught Welbeck, causing the referee to point to the spot. Wayne Rooney finished, and with United leading, Norwich had to attack in the second half. That didn't go terribly well for them.
Rooney's second goal was more of taking the chances as he sees it. With the space given to him by Norwich, he took it and scored a brilliant goal.

| Mata scored immediately upon introduction |
Juan Mata was introduced in the 60th minute and the response was immediate. He scored from a tap in off a cross from Phil Jones. 10 minutes later, he scored again and this time the cross came from Antonio Valencia. There should have another last minute goal by Hernandez but for some reason, he was not on target.
Players like Valencia, Cleverley, Kagawa....all seemed to have been set free from the tactical and limitation set by Moyes....there is more bravery in the challenge, more speed, more imagination, just as promised by Giggs.
This is a good start for Ryan Giggs, but more is expected of him and he seem to know it. The game was a good debut for Giggs, accompanied by the Class of 92. Ryan Giggs emerged from the Old Trafford tunnel to a deafening roar of approval. Those in the Stretford End returned his applause as the stadium greeted him with a standing ovation. Ahead, his assistants -- Paul Scholes, Phil Neville and Nicky Butt, clad in training gear -- strolled to take their places on the bench.

Giggs, Butt and Scholes -- in that order -- sat in a row, behind Neville who was alongside an interloper, goalkeeping coach Chris Woods. For four games only -- and beyond, if Ferguson gets his wish -- the "Class of ’92" will guide the club that made them and which they made great.
This is just a glimpse of United's future....I'm excited...are you??
