Microsoft is bringing the future to today with the debut of HoloLens....it's a big headline, not just because the company decide to get on the bandwagon on the Virtual Reality but because Hololens was so much like what we have seen but so much different at the same time....as Nadella said during the event, "creating new categories".

Microsoft HoloLens |
And while it's probably difficult to say it, Microsoft might have gotten it right this time around with Hololens.
The holographic headset is not just something futuristic but with Microsoft's Build conference featuring Hololens as well, it might just be that Hololens is more ready than most people think. Microsoft is saying that Windows 10 is the new operating system will contain holographic capabilities and their headset will possess the ability to fuse the real world with the digital realm. This new fusion will allow the user to literally step into the action.
Here is the HoloLens experience shared by the lucky few who are invited to the Microsoft Windows 10 event.
HoloLens is flat-out magical. That's what Peter Bright posted on arstechnica.com. You may want to read about those experience on the website or the Youtube video shared by Microsoft on HoloLens.
HoloLens is the new wireless holographic headset that can be used without the need of a computer or phone. It has its own CPU and GPU, as well as a new “HPU” (Holographic Processing Unit), which Microsoft designed especially for this type of interaction.
What HoloLens does was more like Virtual reality than holograms but Microsoft is calling it holograms because of how the virtual reality seen through the headset could interact with the real world. It's quite powerful compare to what we have seen.
Microsoft states, “HoloLens goes beyond augmented reality and virtual reality by enabling you to interact with three-dimensional holograms blended with your real world. Microsoft HoloLens is more than a simple heads-up display, and its transparency means you never lose sight of the world around you. High-definition holograms integrated with your real world will unlock all-new ways to create, communicate, work, and play.”

Microsoft shows how Hololens could communicate via Skype and it's very cool! |
The collaboration between Microsoft and NASA on the work using HoloLens also showed that Microsoft is moving pretty quickly with this technology and Microsoft claim that Hololens will make it debut in Windows 10 time.
You don't need a screen to touch or a mouse to click....only gestures to create, shape and size holograms. You also use your eyes to navigate and explore. Your voice allows you to communicate with your apps. HoloLens has the capability to understand your movements, vision and voice, which enables you to interact with content and information in the most natural way possible.
Compare to what there is to offer on Google Glass, this is pretty much more advance and futuristic....
One thing for sure, Microsoft is making a stand when they debut HoloLens...the future is here and they want a big slice of it.
