Universal apps as good as promised? |
The universal Windows 10 apps have been the key difference for Windows 10 and if you have been following, Microsoft has released the tools to build these universal apps...the one OS to rule them all seems to be a dream coming true with the launching of Windows 10 draws closer.
Microsoft biggest issue in the mobile market has always been apps....Microsoft needs apps for Windows 10 to make it a success, but developers need tools to make them. And Microsoft has to convince them that Windows 10 Universal apps are as universal as they promise. With Microsoft’s first technical preview of Visual Studio 2015, they’ll be able to get started.
Developers who have signed up for Microsoft’s Windows Insiders program can start building so-called universal apps for PCs, tablets and smartphones and the Xbox game console using the Visual Studio 2015 preview tools for Windows 10, the company said in a blog post.
It is still pretty much in beta, just like what Windows 10 has been throughout...but the goal here: Give developers the opportunity to play around with some of Windows 10’s new capabilities while Microsoft finishes building the operating system, the company said. The capabilities include Windows 10’s adaptive user interface, which changes to accommodate screens of different sizes.
It's also a great way to keep people excited about Windows 10, before it has even been completed....
There is a lot of promise in this....and the world is about to find out if Microsoft can deliver this time.
