Football Fever: Rafael claims LVG didn't like him

Rafael had take it to the media after his seven year stay at Old Trafford ended last week when he joined Lyon for €3 million.

Before Moyes took over from Sir Alex Ferguson, Rafael was the man called for in United's right back.

And the Brazilian mentioned that Ferguson's retirement was fatal to his career in Manchester United football club. He was reluctant to discuss about Moyes as it was just a short stint but he claims that current United's manager, Louis Van Gaal did not like him.

And Rafael told Globo Esporte: "I know this history that he doesn't like Brazilians, but I can't say: 'Oh, he doesn't like Brazilians.'

"I know that he didn't like me, but if that's because I'm Brazilian, I don't know."

I got to admit, being a United fan, Rafael is one of those exciting players that I've seen at Old Trafford. While I have to admit the Brazilian might be a bit careless and overexcited sometimes, but in most of the game, he played his role very well and helped in the attacking as well. I'm quite shocked with Van Gaal decision to play Valencia as that role as well. Although Valencia is good, he's not a natural defender and while he might be hardworking, it's obvious that he's not a right back. Nevertheless, with Darmian in the squad, I'm quite pleased with a more natural replacement for Rafael.

While it's sad to see someone as talented and as exciting as Rafael leave United, it's time to move on.

All the best to the Brazilian in his new journey with Lyon and thank you for his contribution at Old Trafford. He'll be missed.

Whether Van Gaal dislike Brazilian or not, it's one thing. The season has kick off with a win, and we are expecting more from the boss this season.
