The Apple's iPhone 7 failed to wow investors in Wall Street and it's reflected in its share price. As of writing, the Apple's share price has fell by 2.52% to US$105.63 per share.
Anyway, what's new with iPhone 7? Well, there are some new stuff that we are seeing but it's really not a device that's going to make you switch if you are an Android fan or if you are already comfortable with either the iPhone 6S or iPhone 6 for that matter.
My conclusion: it's not a quantum leap in the smartphone space. It's just iPhone and its marketing.
Here's what's new that I have read about:
WATERPROOF iPhone
They call it "the first water-resistant iPhone".

Apparently, the hardware can withstand immersion in up to 1 meter of water for 30 minutes. While it is becoming more common for smartphones to be "waterproof", it's definitely an upgrade that one would be pleased with. Although I doubt you will put your iPhone under the water even if you know you can. Felt more like an insurance plan for me. (just in case)
HOME BUTTON
I really could not understand the significance of this. In fact, I think it might not be suitable for everyone. The one feature that has always been around an iPhone, its physical home button, something that you can press to activate. Remember, it's a button that you always press: Go to home, exit an app, or even to turn on the iPhone.

The iPhone 7 has a new sensation feeling, thanks to the Taptic Engine. Apple has opted to dropped the mechanical home button, and will use Apple's "taptic engine" to click back at users. Vibrations delivered through the home button will be used as notifications, with unique buzzes for things like text messages and calls. Third-party companies will also be able to program their own feedback through a taptic engine API.
So far, the comments on the home button has been pretty negative.
AN ENTIRELY NEW CAMERA for iPhone 7
For those who love iPhone's photography, you might be the happiest of the lot because apparently, the upgrade does feel like an upgrade.

It has been revamped to enhance low-light capabilities and take even sharper photos. Apple is not going to fight the megapixel games apparently, but instead, the device (4.7 inch) has a f/1.8 lens that lets 50 per cent more light onto the lens, a new 12MP sensor that's 60 per cent faster and 30 per cent more energy efficient.
The 5.5 inch ones has dual-lens camera, which allows a huge increase in quality when zooming in on a photo. Definitely something that previous iPhone models are lacking in. (the dual-lens camera strategy does felt like what Huawei's P9 launched recently though)
The iPhone 7 Plus has two 12MP cameras. One of it is a wide angle lens and the other a telephoto lens. The telephoto lens can zoom 2X in high quality. Cameras on both models will also have 12 megapixel sensors as well as 4K video recording capability. Live editing of video files and with wide colour capture are also enabled.
It also has image stabilisation and a new camera flash, which helps in photo shots under low-light environment. The number of LEDs have been doubled to four (two warm, two cold), creating a more effective flash, with 50% more light. There is also a flicker sensor that helps the flash to look like natural light.
For selfies and FaceTime, the iPhone 7 has been the front camera being upgraded to 7MP from 5MP.
HEADPHONE JACKS GONE
I am really not sure why is this an upgrade but apparently, Apple feels that without the headphone jacks, the iPhone is better. I'm not so sure about it (although I think it has a lot to do with the water-resistant feature). Instead of traditional headphone connection, iPhone packages now come with earphones that fit into the phone's "lightning port", used for charging and data transfer.

Apple also introduced wireless Apple "Airpods". There are infrared sensors detect when each pod is in your ear and motion sensors control the headphones to use Siri and detect your voice. The bad news is you have to charge another device, your "Airpods". Five hours of listening and with the compact charging case, delivers 24 hours of total battery life.
Was it better? Apple claims that it has superior sound quality but anyone who is into audio devices would know that a move to wireless are likely to see a slight drop in audio quality. Hard to say which is better but it's really debatable.

OTHERS
There are others: its longer battery life, better display and appearance (subjective). Well, it's really hard to give it a thumbs up but there are good news from its apps though, with Super Mario coming into iOS10.
