Mechanic: Resurrection [Review]

Mechanic: Resurrection was supposed to be one of those movies that fall under the good to watch category but it fall short, way off the target. In fact, I think it should be one of the worst movie ever screen.

This was despite the fact that Mechanic: Resurrection featured Jason Statham, and his admirable body physics and the gorgeous Jessica Alba. Yes, besides the fact that the two look good on camera, there is really no reason to watch this movie.

I have never been critical about movies....it's just how I would still love to watch Suicide Squad as well as DC's Batman vs Superman despite of all the critics on these two movies. But Mechanic: Resurrection has crossed the line, whether in terms of the story line or the action in it.

The review for Mechanic: Resurrection may have contained some spoiler. Avoid reading this if you dislike spoiler (but trust me, it makes no difference at all, you'll still hate the movie)

The flaw of the plot

I am one of the big fan of some of the Hollywood movies, because of the way they design their plot, even though some of those plots are as predictable as hell, at least they make sense. For example, Suicide Squad tries to bring out the humanity in the villain (while making it fun at the same time). Even Batman vs Superman linked it with both the heroes' mother's name, Martha. (okay, it doesn't really make sense but it's not as bad as this).

The movie started with some very bad people looking for Arthur Bishop in Brazil (Jason Statham) to kill three people. Three jobs. And apparently, the bad boss was Riah Crain (Sam Hazeldine) who happened to know Bishop and intend to kill him after Bishop has done with his job.

A few questions: why must Crain use Bishop's service? Apparently, he's the best. (here, it still make a bit of sense).

And then, after failing to get Bishop for the first time, Bishop vanished to Thailand, and there he met a stranger, Gina (Jessica Alba). Apparently, she was being abused by a man who stay with her in a boat. Bishop saved her and finds out that Gina was forced by Crain in order to make him fall in love with her.

(Does that make sense to you? Well, it does if Gina is also a villain. But apparently, Crain purposely captured Gina from the children shelter in Cambodia. The funny thing is here: Crain forced Gina to be a spy for him to make Bishop falls in love with her so that he can has a leverage against Bishop.

Unwillingly, Gina followed. (to protect the children in the shelter). and unbelievable, it works. Bishop falls in love with her, and Crain has her as leverage, forcing Bishop to do the three assassination, or else Gina will die.

QUESTION: WHY THE HELL DID CRAIN HAS TO CAPTURE GINA TO DO IT? WHY NOT JUST SIMPLY SEND SOME HOT LADY TO MAKE BISHOP FALL IN LOVE?
It really doesn't make sense at all. It is as if Crain knew exactly the type of girl that Bishop would fall in love with.

THE ACTION PACKED IS WAY TOO SLOW

Look, it is really one thing to have a bad plot and a good action movie, but to have a bad plot and a bad action, come on!! The entire movie's tempo was way too slow....Nicole even has to play some of her game in the cinema while waiting for Bishop to plan his killing.

The planning was horrible....he was supposed to be someone who kill others, making it look like an accident. Except for the guy who was killed during his swim, the rest all was obviously depending on the work of his muscles.

Not that it is a problem if it's fun but the action scene looks way too fake, with the villains getting ready to be slain by Bishop a.k.a Jason Statham. Yes, the villains are one of the worst I have ever watched on the big screen.

TOMMY LEE JONES THE ONLY SAVING GRACE

Perhaps the only saving grace of the movie was Tommy Lee Jones. While his character, Max Adams did not featured too much into the movie, at least his role feels realistic.

Honestly, both Jessica Alba and Jason Statham screw it big time except for their beautiful bodies. Lack of chemistry, looks fake and seriously, this movie should be banned from screening because it's just so bad.

I agree, this is a bad movie. It just falls flat, unless people just want to see the beautiful bodies. Even the part where Bishop tried to rescue Gina before the third murder. That part was pointless or just showing Gina is not a hopeless damsel in distress? Regretted watching this.
