True enough, Tabata training was discovered by Japanese scientist Dr Izumi Tabata and his team of researchers in Tokyo. Anyway, apparently, Tabata is another high-intensity interval training (HIIT) working, featuring exercises that last for only four minutes.

Tabata: 4 minutes of workout |
While four minutes may sound easy, I'm sure it's probably a very long four minutes for one to endure. The structure of the program is something like this:
- Get into any of the exercise or workout and do it intensively for 20 seconds
- Rest for 10 seconds
- This is 1 round
- Complete the exercise for 8 rounds
- By the time you complete eight rounds, you are done with one exercise.
One of the good things about Tabata is the flexibility to do whatever workout or exercise that one is comfortable...such as push ups, sit ups, squats, burpees or any other exercise that works your large muscle groups.
Here is one of the Tabata workout that I found on the internet. By the time you are done with four minutes, rest one minute then move on to the next workout.
Push ups (4 minutes)
Squats (4 minutes)
Burpees (4 minutes)
Jumping split squat (4 minutes)
Trust me...it's really really painful.
MEALS FOR THE DAY
Anyway as for meals, I had a bread and hotdog while on the way back from KL to Ipoh (shared with Yen Leng).
Had chicken chop (didn't really take the fries though) for lunch.
As for dinner, I had soup and oats only.
Not a very active day but it's great to explore some new form of exercise.
