Almost unbelievable that it happened... |
But despite of all the defeat, Van Gaal remained bullish and confident about his decision.
"I am not shocked," the Manchester United manager said, never flinching. "Milton Keynes played very well, very aggressively. And we had nine injuries. We also had to play within 48 hours so I could not play with the same squad as on Sunday."
"You have to analyse the problem, and I've done that," he said. "We have nine injuries and had a very young team. I have seen them trying to do their utmost best, so you cannot expect more from players."
Well, the arrival of Di Maria could helped to turn around the Devils' misfortune but there are still a lot of concern in regards to his price tag and also United fragile defensive line up.
Angel di Maria became a Manchester United's player for British record fee of £59.7m.

Angel Di Maria joined United |
'I am absolutely delighted to be joining Manchester United,' said Di Maria.
'I have thoroughly enjoyed my time in Spain and there were a lot of clubs interested in me, but United is the only club that I would have left Real Madrid for.
'Louis van Gaal is a fantastic coach with a proven track record of success and I am impressed by the vision and determination everyone has to get this club back to the top – where it belongs. I now just cannot wait to get started.'
I am not sure if Di Maria witnessed the game that United had against MK Dos before making the statement. But with this latest addition, Van Gaal surely will be able to bring United back into the title contention?
If you think Di Maria is the last addition, you're not getting it right. Apparently, the deal for Juventus' Vidal is about to be finalized as well.
Another Devil to be |
Well, the one thing about the defeat that we can take is this: Van Gaal is an extremely confident man, close to arrogant....because while fans everywhere seem to be starting to get panic, he acted as though the 4 nil defeat was part of his plan. One thing for sure...he's getting the players that he want so far...
