Champions League Preview: Manchester United takes on Bayern Leverkusen at Old Trafford

Well, in Group A, Manchester United will take on Bayern Leverkusen at Old Trafford. United new boss, Moyes had never take charge in a Champions League game before this.

Can the story continues for United?

His only previous experience as a manager in the Champions League came eight years ago when his former club Everton lost 4-2 on aggregate to Villarreal in a third qualifying round tie.

Rooney
Fellaini

Van Persie
He now has a new challenge though: to take Manchester United past the Group stage. Much is expected from him....this is a very different situation from when he lead Everton 8 years ago. He is now the manager of English football champion and a lot is expected from him.

The visit of Leverkusen will doubtless bring back painful memories for Moyes' predecessor as United lost to the Bundesliga club on away goals in the 2002 semi-finals, which denied Ferguson a 'home' final in Glasgow against Real Madrid.

United did beat Leverkusen home and away in the group phase in the following season, but head into Tuesday's game on the back of a mixed record at Old Trafford in Europe in recent campaigns.

With Rooney and Van Persie both fit for the game against Bayern Leverkusen, it will be interesting to see how Moyes will try to light up the partnership between the two....

Can Moyes live up to expectation? We are about to see, as the season finally begin with the Champions League return....
